Hello noble Buddhist friends,

My name is Suzie, I am 28 years old and I'm currently living in Canvey Island in the UK. Throughout the years of experience I have gained in dating, I have realised that you cannot attach yourself to people, ideas, thoughts or outcomes. Once you cling on to this, you lose your inner strength and power, which can lead to further suffering and lack of inner peace. I have also noticed that a lot of people, particularly young people, feel the pressure to not be alone and have a fear of abandonment if they don't get into a relationship with another person. This should not be the case, as your greatest moments of inner peace and healing are in times of solitude and tranquility. If you're always striving for someone to love you, then how is it possible to love yourself first? Being single is a blessing as it gives you time and space to truly know who you are and what will bring you happiness in your life. People need to remember that love is not a transcation, it does not have to involve a relationship with another person. You can still love someone and let them be free at the same time.
